Metopio is the single best platform to learn about communities, populations, and places. We analyze enormous quantities of public and private data to provide you with decision-ready insights about any topic or place of interest in the United States.
We believe Metopio is much faster and easier to use than any other platform, and is more broadly useful: for community health, business intelligence, marketing, journalism, and analytics. It houses a large set of data across 500+ topics, along with more places like legislative districts and user-defined regions. Our visualizations are the best around, and Metopio has been built from the very start for complex analytics to tell you what you need to know.
The team behind Metopio understands in a deep sense the community development and community health principles that guide its development, such as Health in All Policies and the web of social determinants that drive health outcomes.
Metopio comes from two Greek words, μετά (beyond) + τόπος (place), describing how our tools and visualizations take you deep into the interconnected factors that influence outcomes in different locations. It's pronounced meh-TOE-pee-oh, but you won't offend us if you make up another pronunciation.
Metopio was built by people who worked in community engagement and advocacy. After spending years looking for a data platform that would let them compile, visualize, and analyze information about the communities they worked in, they decided to build one themselves.
Metopio's visualizations are incredibly easy to use because we have prioritized your user experience at every step of building this platform. That's why they are custom-designed and built for Metopio, not licensed from another company, and it's what allows us to introduce new features far ahead of competitors that are tied to old technologies.
Metopio has been tested and should work on all major web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Internet Explorer, and others). It also works well on mobile and tablet devices and their major browsers. If you notice a potential bug, please let us know on our Contact page.
Note: While Metopio works on Internet Explorer, some of its visualizations are not optimized for that browser. Microsoft has discontinued support for Internet Explorer. If you notice that Metopio is very slow on Internet Explorer, consider trying it in another web browser such as Microsoft Edge.
For best results, use your computer's screenshot tool to take pictures of scatterplots. On Windows, this is the Snipping Tool. Mac computers and mobile phones also have ways to take screenshots. These tools will let you save an image of the visualization exactly the way it looks to you.
You can also click on an "Export" or "Save image" button near the visualization to download an image, but be aware that this tool may distort your image in some ways, and will not capture any highlights or other changes you've made to the visualization. This tool does not work on Internet Explorer.
Metopio is built for collaborative data work. Our licenses are geared toward people working in teams, such as a small company, or the Strategy or Marketing department at a larger organization. We recommend getting one license for each department because their needs are often different.
An Enterprise license lets you combine all of the teams at your company into one license, so that they can share datasets, custom regions, visuals, and other work in a secure account. Contact us for more information about the Enterprise license.
If you are not part of a team, don't worry! You still get all the features of Metopio if you're the only one on your team.
Compare the features, datasets, and places you can access under the different licenses. Every team is different, but here are some guidelines:
When you start a license with a free trial, you can use Metopio without paying or providing a credit card. When the trial period is over, you'll be asked to submit payment information to keep using your license. You can cancel at any time before paying.
Our licenses are a fixed price for teams of up to 10 people. If your team is smaller than that, perhaps there are colleagues elsewhere in your organization that would like to use Metopio with you.
Yes. If you upgrade or downgrade your license midway during your subscription period, the additional amount or savings will be applied to your next invoice. If you cancel, you will not be refunded for the time remaining on your subscription.
A seat is the spot taken up by a user - someone with their own login for Metopio.
You bet! When you cancel, you won't be charged again.
If you mean just expanding your team to 11 or 12 people, contact us to expand your license a little. You'll pay a per-user cost equivalent to 1/10 of the license price for each additional user.
Beyond 12 users, you should really consider an Enterprise license that can cover everyone at your organization with multiple teams sharing workspaces and data. It would seriously upgrade your Metopio toolset as well. Please contact us to discuss more.
